Take a 10-50km (32,000-164,000 ft) flight into the earth’s stratosphere on a specialized balloon.

The first high altitude balloon flight of 10-50km (32,000-164,000ft) into the earth’s
stratosphere took place on May 27, 1931 in a spherical gondola designed by August
Piccard. The stratostat (FNRS-1) took off at 3:53am from the outskirts of Augsburg,
Germany and landed on the Gurgl glacier at an altitude of 2500m in the Tyrolean
Alps. The 17-hour and 28 minute flight, with Piccard and Paul Kipfer on board, broke a
world record, reaching heights of 15,781m (51,775ft).
