MINING OF USABLE MOON ORE
The process of mining solid, liquid, and gaseous materials (as raw materials or fuel) from moon ore will be possible with the help of mechanical tools, and space grade machinery.
To date, the only mined moon ore is the moon’s surface regolith delivered through the USA (383 kilograms) and the USSR (324 grams) lunar programs.
The first specimens of the moon’s surface ore (21.7 kg) were delivered to Earth by the Apollo 11 space program’s crew in June of 1969.
